WHAT CAN HOME OWNERS DO ABOUT SOFT PLASTER OR PEELING PAINT?
Home owners can lodge complaints about workmanship on their homes for up to six (6) years in accordance with the Western Australian Building Commission Act of 2011. Many home owners complain that their walls get damaged easily, or that the plaster is soft. Realistically all walls get knocked from general use. Commonly blue tack or painters masking tapes will remove paint from the walls.
The home owner must prove that the walls are faulty in some way or that the tradesperson did not follow the specification. The builder may have plastered and painted the walls, or just done the plastering only.
THE PLASTER DOCTOR WA can help you to identify what has gone wrong, and how to proceed.

BUILDERS
Builders have a responsibility to ensure their trades carry out their work in a proper and proficient manner. Sometimes it can be difficult to ascertain who is at fault between the trades and who is liable.
Builders receive many complaints from home owners, some warranted, others not.
The builder’s trades have their own responsibility to follow the Specification and any relevant Australian Standards and Codes.
THE PLASTER DOCTOR WA can help you to delineate the lines of responsibilities, and liabilities.
